Jon Bernthal will always be remembered for his portrayal of Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead series. He did an outstanding job bringing life to Rick Grimes’ best friend and partner and creating the character fans loved to hate. Bernthal’s latest project, We Own This City, will release on HBOmax this week.

Bernthal portrayed Shane in seasons 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead, and his death was shocking and unexpected. He planned to lure his best friend to a field and kill him to have Rick’s family as his own. This plan backfired, and Rick got a leg up and killed Shane instead. What Rick didn’t expect was for Shane to reanimate, as he hadn’t been bit by a walker. This resulted in two things, his son Carl shooting Shane’s undead form and proving that what Dr. Jenner told him at the CDC was true, everyone is infected.

Since leaving the series, Bernthal has taken on many memorable roles, and his latest is sure to be another on that list.
