The Walking Dead season 11 not coming to Netflix in May 2022
By Renee Hansen
Fans of The Walking Dead generally get their fix of the series when it airs on AMC or a week early on AMC+, but many fans wait until the season is released on Netflix. With season 11 being extraordinarily long, fans are curious about when it will be available on the streamer.
Season 11 of The Walking Dead will be the final for the long-running series. The final season began airing in August 2021, but we won’t see the last episode of the series air until November 2022. That date is approximate as the premiere date for the final eight episodes hasn’t been announced yet. The November date is based on the live fan event AMC has announced to take place for the final episode.
The final season has been released in three parts, each consisting of eight episodes for 24 episodes to conclude the story.
The Walking Dead on Netflix
Netflix currently has seasons 1-10 available to stream, but when can you expect season 11 to release on the streamer? Sadly, you will be waiting for a while. AMC generally releases the season to Netflix after the final episode airs.
If we look back, season 10 of The Walking Dead wasn’t released on Netflix until a month before the season 11 premiere. It is hard to gauge when AMC allows Netflix to stream the final season with no new season coming.
It appears the only way to stream The Walking Dead season 11 at this time and in the near future will be AMC+.
AMC and AMC+ are currently airing new episodes of season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead weekly.
The anthology spinoff series, Tales of the Walking Dead, will release this summer.
