Fear the Walking Dead season 7 episode 11 gruesome death
By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead’s “Ofelia” episode focused on Daniel’s mental health decline and the retrieval of a weapons cache. Morgan’s group and the Stalkers are both set on overtaking Strand’s Tower as it is the safest place to be, and these weapons are key to this mission.
The episode highlights Daniel’s continued battle with memory loss and confusion, which leads him to go in search of his long-dead daughter Ofelia, where the episode gets its title. Luciana and Wes go in search of him, leading to their capture by Arno and the Stalkers.
They take them back to their base and question them about the location of the weapons as they have been broadcasting their plan across the walkies, which Arno has been listening to. Daniel’s memory may be slipping, but his combat skills are still on point, and he is able to get one up on Arno and take his gun, which ends up not being loaded. He also takes a knife from another captor and sends half of Arno’s people on a wild chase for the weapons with the wrong coordinates.
Fear the Walking Dead – Arno
This week sees the end of Arno, the leader of the Stalkers. This character was first introduced at the beginning of season 7 when the Stalkers attacked Strand’s Tower.
In a flashback, viewers learn that he was part of the group that cult leader Teddy (John Glover) hand-picked as the chosen ones locked in the bunker with Alicia. He would serve as second in command to Alicia’s leadership until they had a falling out, and he would form the Stalkers. He did this because as Alicia was following the reanimated version of Senator Vasquez, many of his people were killed, and he blames her for their deaths. He has been trying to kill her since.
In this week’s episode, he goes against the wrong man when he lies to Daniel. A man with Daniel’s background won’t stand for that and puts Arno in his cage and sends him into the pit of walkers, and Daniel watches as they devour his lower extremities.
Sadly, AMC didn’t release any of the after photos of his legs. But, the SPX team did a bang-up job with this scene, as they did with these walkers from Daniel’s scene below from earlier in the episode.
Fear the Walking Dead – Spence Granese
Arno was portrayed by actor Spence Granese, known for his roles in The Equalizer, Pam & Tommy, 40-Love, The Many Saints of Newark (that also stars fellow TWD actor Jon Bernthal), Mayans MC, Better Call Saul, Blue Bloods and more.
Next, he will star in a film, Alone Together, releasing on June 14, 2022.
