Fear the Walking Dead season 7 episode 11

As Luciana is sure to discover before this season of Fear The Walking Dead is over: In a zombie apocalypse, honesty really is the best policy.

This week’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead focused primarily on the relationship between Luciana and Daniel and how the two have come to depend on one another since losing Nick and Ofelia, respectively.

For Luci’s part, she has been somewhat lost since Nick’s death back in season four. Daniel has been increasingly damaged by the frayed relationship he had with Ofelia since her discovery of his past and his failure to rectify that before her death in season three. Recently his memory is becoming more porous and unreliable as time has progressed.

The relationship between Daniel and his daughter is what he has come to believe is the key to repairing his memory, even to the point of believing that Ofelia is still alive. Even confessing that he believes it will fix his condition.

At the end of this week’s episode, Luciana lied to her surrogate father, knowing Daniel’s skills would be vital in defeating Strand. She tells him that Ofelia is alive and captive in the Tower. Wes’ decision to defect to Strand, and tell him Luciana’s lie, makes it clear this will come back to haunt her.

That is why in this week’s Survival Rule Of The Week, I will focus on why telling lies in a zombie apocalypse is a terrible idea. Hopefully, once I’m finished, you’ll see that honesty really is the best policy.
