Christian Serratos has played Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead since season 4. She was introduced with her companions Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) and has become an apocalyptic mother, fierce fighter, and leader since then. Serratos recently shared the news that fans can see her in another Netflix series, Love, Death and Robots.

This series is a Netflix original adult animated anthology produced by Tim Miller, Joshua Donen, David Fincher and Jennifer Miller. Love, Death and Robots is a reimagining of the 1981 sci-fi movie Heavy Metal, which had been in development by Fincher and Miller for quite some time.

These stand-alone stories have a runtime of under 20 minutes and feature different cast and crews, with some episodes seeing repeats in crew members. The title refers to each episode’s connection to the three mentioned subjects, but some episodes may not contain all three. Another unique element of this series is that each episode features a different animation crew with members from various countries.

The third season of the series will release on Netflix on May 20, 2022. Serratos will star in an episode titled “In Vaulted Halls Entombed.” This episode is set in the mountains of Afghanistan, where Serratos, Joe Manganiello and Jai Courtney are Special Forces soldiers tasked with recovering a hostage who is being held by terrorists. The real evil they must confront is in the form of an ancient elder god.

This episode is directed by Jerome Chen and written by Philp Gelatt with source material from a short story written by Alan Baxter. Sony Pictures Imageworks is the studio responsible for the animation in this episode.

Serratos shared her excitement about the episode on Instagram.

She will return to The Walking Dead this fall for the final eight episodes of the series.
