This weekend, Chandler Riggs, who played Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead, appears at Motor City Comic Con in Michigan. The website MLive had a chance to catch up with him and find out what he is up to these days.

Riggs portrayed Carl on The Walking Dead from the beginning of the series until his death in season 8. This death was especially sad as Carl survived until the end of the comic story, which had a 25-year time jump and saw him married with a child. It was an unexpected death that left many fans shocked and frankly mad.

When a child actor literally grows up on screen throughout a series, that person becomes very important to viewers. Fans feel a special connection as they have witnessed the child grow into a teen and sometimes into a young adult. This was the case with Chandler Riggs so he will always hold a special place in many fans’ hearts.

Chandler Riggs – charity work

Riggs shared in the interview (see below) that he is currently auditioning for many roles, so he is just waiting to hear back. In the meantime, he spends his time on Twitch where he raises money for charities.

You can follow him via his handle “Chairhandler” and donate if you wish. He has a great set of rules on his site, including “Don’t be a dick” and “Say Chandie and it’s over for you.”

Each month a different charity is chosen to make donations to. He explains the process in this Twitter post.

After his death on TWD, Riggs would go on to star in the movie Only with fellow Walking Dead actors Josh Mikel and Jayson Warner Smith. He also starred in the crime thriller Inherit the Viper and seasons 1 and 2 of A Million Little Things. It will be exciting to see what he stars in next with all of his auditions.

Next. Fear TWDs Sydney Lemmon and Michael Greyeyes in Firestarter reboot. dark
