Tales of the Walking Dead spinoff “lock on season 1” says showrunner

Even with the end of the flagship series looming, The Walking Dead fandom has much to look forward to. Several spinoff series are in the works, and Fear the Walking Dead, the first spinoff, has been renewed for an eighth season that is set to begin filming this summer. Tales of the Walking Dead will be the next series to release its first season.
Showrunner and co-creator Channing Powell shared an update on season 1 of Tales of the Walking Dead. If you follow her on Instagram, you could see from a recent story post that her update stated, “We are good to lock 106, which is also a lock on season 1.” Her story also shared that tequila was her This is excellent news as the series has been announced for a summer release which this news confirms will still be happening.
Since the flagship series’ fourth season, Channing Powell has been involved with The Walking Dead universe. She would begin work on Fear the Walking Dead in its sixth season. She has written several episodes and served as a producer. It is exciting to have a season veteran helm this spinoff.
Tales of the Walking Dead spinoff series
This series will be set in an anthology format where each of the six episodes in season 1 will tell a different story. These stories can focus on new or existing characters and could be backstories or standalone experiences.
The first season will see at least one familiar face when Samantha Morton reprises her role as Alpha, leader of the Whisperers. This will be in the sixth and final episode of season 1, with Lauren Glazier of Gone Girl joining her for this episode.
