Walking Dead alum Tovah Feldshuh attends Cannes Film Festival
By Renee Hansen
Tovah Feldshuh portrayed Deanna Monroe, the leader of Alexandria, in seasons 5-6 of The Walking Dead. She was a great leader who appreciated the person and leader Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was and, before her death, turned the leadership of the community over to him. This week Feldshuh attended the 75th Cannes Film Festival with the cast of the film Armageddon Time, in which she stars.
Armageddon Time was directed by James Gray and was featured at Cannes. This intimate family story is set in Queens in the 1980s and features Donald Trump’s family members as characters in the story. After the film finished airing, it received a six-minute standing ovation, moving many cast members to tears.
The film was also written by Gray, who used his upbringing in Queens as source material. The film tells of a middle-class Jewish boy who moves from public to private school, aided by his loving but stern grandfather; in the process, he leaves behind a friend and faces a moral dilemma.
In addition to Feldshuh, the film stars Anne Hathaway, Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, Michael Banks, Jaylin Webb, Ryan Sell, Dane West, Andrew Polk, Jacob MacKinnon, Domenick Lambardozzi, John Diehl, and Jessica Chastain.
