Walking Dead receives Gracie Award from Alliance for Women in Media Foundation

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) Presented the 47th Annual Gracie Awards, and The Walking Dead universe was honored once again. Established in 1975 by the Alliance for Women in Media, the Gracie Awards recognize outstanding women in media and entertainment.
The 2022 event brought back the in-person celebration and was hosted by Holly Robinson Peete with performances by Christina Perri and Celebrated Women in Media and Entertainment. Held at Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, the event recognized outstanding programming created by, for, and about women across all media and entertainment categories.
Top honors at the event went to Ava Duvernay, Jillian Mercado, Tamron Hall and Pose. The Gracie Awards also serves as a fundraiser for the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, which provides educational programs and scholarships that benefit the media, the public and allied fields.
The Walking Dead honored at The Gracie Awards
This year’s event saw The Walking Dead honored for:
Television National Honorees – Writing Team – The Walking Dead – Writer Scripted Drama
Showrunner Angela Kang was on hand to receive the award presented by Walking Dead alum Sabrina Gennarino, who portrayed Tamiel in the series. Gennarino shared her experience at the event on social media.
