Walking Dead’s David Morrissey series Sherwood, release date and trailer
By Renee Hansen
David Morrissey is a diverse actor which was quite evident in his portrayal of the ruthless Governor in The Walking Dead series. The Governor was callous and savage and became obsessed with the idea of killing Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), and their group of survivors. His story was told during seasons 3 and 4 of the series, and he met his well-deserved end during the midseason finale of season 4. Morrissey now has a new series, Sherwood, set to release on BBC.
The first season of the BBC crime drama, Sherwood, will consist of six episodes and be released on June 13. This series is based on a true story set in the village of Nottinghamshire, where two murders threaten the already fragile community. The manhunt for the suspected murderer will become one of the largest in British history.
The series is created by James Graham and sees Morrissey as DCS Ian St. Clair, who leads the investigation along with his former rival DI Kevin Salisbury played by Robert Glenister. Additional cast includes Downton Abby’s Joanne Froggatt and Kevin Doyle, along with Lesley Manville, Claire Rushbrook, Lorraine Ashbourne, Phillip Jackson, Perry Fitzpatrick, Clare Holman, Terence Maynard, Andrea Lowe, Tina Louise Owens, John Alan, Roberts, Sajjad Nahavandi and Adele Akhtar.
