Fear the Walking Dead

11) When Alicia is returned to the beach by the group, she explains that the little girl she was seeing was bit but survived. This prompted Luciana to say that she’s heard someone make that lie before, referring to her original group’s leader, Dr. Nunez, who had made such a claim to inspire faith and unity in their group but had, in actuality, been bitten by a crazed addict (as revealed in episode 214, “Wrath”).

12) The birds which continually pop up in this episode likely symbolize the innocence and unwillingness to give up that Madison spoke of in her story to Al (in the tape titled “Amina”) about Nick and Alicia working desperately to nurse a wounded bird back to health when they were kids.

13) Charlie telling Alicia, “We finally got to see a beach,” is a reference to her telling Alicia she’d never gotten to see the beach when the pair got separated from the rest of the group by a hurricane in episode 410, “Close Your Eyes.”

14) This episode is the first time we’ve seen Madison or Nick since season four. Much like with Ofelia earlier this season, it was through flashbacks of their final moments.

15) In the episode insider, it’s confirmed that Alicia exerting herself to fight walkers accelerated her blacking out/passing out episodes. But, since her body would at least try pumping her with adrenaline to fight walkers, why would that cause her to pass out? Strand was using adrenaline to wake her up as they ascended the Tower in the previous episode, so shouldn’t she be more alert when fighting and then black out or pass out afterward?
