Tales of the Walking Dead sets August premiere date, promo photos

Fans of The Walking Dead universe won’t have long to wait for new content. The Walking Dead won’t see a new episode until the fall, and Fear the Walking Dead hasn’t begun filming for its next season but enter the newest spin-off, Tales of the Walking Dead, with a summer release date for season 1.

Tales of the Walking Dead is an anthology series set in the world of The Walking dead. The first season will feature six stand-alone episodes that will feature established and new characters in that world. While these stories will be seen via a unique POV and tone, they will still have the same life-threatening situations set in the apocalypse.

This series is led by Walking Dead veteran Channing Powell who serves as showrunner, with episodes directed by long-time Walking Dead universe director Michael Satrazemis, Fear TWD director Tara Nicole Weyr and Haifaa al-Mansour and Deborah Kampmeie, who are new to the franchise.

Tales of the Walking Dead release date

According to a press release from AMC, Tales of the Walking Dead will release the first episode of season 1 on August 14 on AMC at 9 p.m. ET and AMC+ will air episodes 1 and 2. The remaining episodes for the season will air one week early on AMC+.
