Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun’s movies, a complete list and where to watch

TWD Family fondly remembers Steven Yeun as Glenn Rhee from The Walking Dead. But, throughout his career, he has had many memorable roles in movies and TV. Many remember him from that one episode of The Big Bang Theory as Sebastian, and what about the time he was on Comedy Bang! Bang as himself in the episode  “Steven Yeun Wears Rolled Up Black Jeans & No Socks?”

Many may not know that Yeun is a talented voice actor. He has voiced characters on American Dad!, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, Stretch Armstrong, and the Flex Fighters, Robot Chicken, Final Space, 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, Tuca & Bertie, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia, and most recently the voice Mark Grayson/Invincible in Amazon Prime Video’s adult animated series Invincible. 

Yeun’s most recent series, Beef, is an A24 production streaming on Netflix. He stars as co-lead with Ali Wong in this dark comedy that is a moving tale about two people who experience a road rage incident that will alter their lives forever.

Jerry

This was originally titled My Name is Jerry.  The story follows Jerry, a 40-something door-to-door book salesman whose life is changed when he meets a young punk rocker. You can rent this movie on Google Play, iTunes, or Vudu.

Carpe Millennium

A comedy short that sees Yeun play Kevin, a virgin who wants to lose his virginity on the eve of 2000. You can view this one on Vimeo. 

Blowout Sale

A three-minute short that is available on Youtube. 

I Origins

This sci-fi drama follows a molecular biologist and his lab partner as they discover evidence that may change society as we know it. You can rent this movie on Amazon Prime Video. 

Okja

Another sci-fi film starring Yeun and Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, Ahn Seo-hyun, Byun Hee-bong, Lily Collins, Yoon Je-moon, Shirley Henderson, Daniel Henshall, Devon Bostick, Choi Woo-Shik, Giancarlo Esposito and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film follows a girl who raises a super pig that has been genetically modified. It is taken to the US, where she then goes on a mission to rescue it from the mistreatment by the meat industry. This film is available on Netflix. 

Mayhem

This horror action film stars Yeun and Samara Weaving as they battle their way through an office complex after a virus breaks out, causing white-collar workers to act out their worse impulses. This is available on AMC+ and Prime Video. 

The Star

An animated tale of a small brave donkey who witnessed The First Christmas. Additional voices include Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Keegan-Michael Key, Kelly Clarkson, Patricia Heaton, Kristin Chenoweth, Tracy Morgan, Tyler Perry, and Oprah Winfrey. Available to rent on Prime Video. 

Sorry to Bother You

This surrealist black comedy film follows a young black telemarketer who adopts a white accent to excel at his job. Things are going well as he climbs the corporate ladder until he lands in corporate and moral chaos. Also starring LaKeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Danny Glover, and Armie Hammer. You can watch this one on Netflix. 

Burning

This South Korean psychological thriller is based on a short story titled Barn Burning  The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami and contains elements inspired by William Faulkner’s same-titled story. Childhood friends, Jong-su and Hae-mi, are reacquainted as adults when she meets a new man named Ben. Jong-su becomes suspicious of him, fearing that Hae-mi is in danger. This title is available on several subscription services, including Freevee on Prime Video, Pluto TV, Tubi and Vudu.

Naysayer

Yeun stars with fellow Walking Dead actress Alanna Masterson (Tara) in this short film. The pair plays husband and wife in this emotional and intense film. Ian (Yeun) is cut off from his son and decides to take matters into his own hands. Things take an unexpected turn, and a baby’s cries alter what you thought was true. Naysayer is available on Vimeo. 

Minari

The drama film written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung stars  Yeun, Han Ye-ri, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Youn Yuh-jung, and Will Patton. The story is a semi-autobiographical look at Chung’s childhood following a South Korean family who migrants to the US in the 1980s. This film received critical acclaim and found many touting it as one of the best films of 2020. It was nominated for numerous awards. This one can be viewed via Prime Video, Fubo and Showtime.

Space Jam: A New Legacy

The second installment of the Space Jam films saw Yeun in a cameo appearance as a Warner Brothers executive. The second film puts LeBron James in the Looney Tunes world as a fictional version of himself. You can view this movie on Prime Video, HBO Max and HBO.

Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans

This computer-animated sci-fi fantasy is the finale of the Tales of the Arcadia franchise by  Guillermo del Toro. Yeun portrays the voice of Steve Palchuck, a character who has also been featured in the three TV shows and books in this franchise. You can watch this on Netflix. 

The Humans

Another psychological drama, The Humans, is based on a one-act play by the writer and director of the film, Stephen Karam. Starring Yeun,  Richard Jenkins, Jayne Houdyshell, Amy Schumer, Beanie Feldstein and June Squibb. This movie features three generations of one family on Thanksgiving day. As with any family gathering, issues arise, but by evening, things begin to become strange. This movie is available on Prime Video, Fubo TV and Showtime.

Nope 

Nope is the latest film from Jodan Peele, a sci-fi horror starring Yeun, Daniel Kaluuya, and Keke Palmer.  Residents of an isolated town begin to experience strange and abnormal events that they suspect have to do with a UFO. This movie is available on Prime Video.
