Who IS The Most Redeemable?

I know I said at the beginning of this that the fact so many of the villains this season had reasoning for what they did make deciding who was the most redeemable more difficult, but being “more difficult” doesn’t necessarily mean difficult because, truth be told, this might be one of the easiest choices on this topic in recent memory.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Wes is the most redeemable villain of season seven of Fear The Walking Dead.

Why? Simple: He never should have turned heel in the first place.

As I said in his entry, Wes’ whole turn to the dark side, and everything he did in it, was absolutely,  entirely, 100% avoidable. It didn’t need to happen. Had Luciana just chosen, to be honest, Wes would have stayed with the group.

And, because of the sheer avoidability (For lack of a better term) of the whole situation, I can’t help but name Wes as the most redeemable. Howard, Arno, Strand, and Madison had, for most of the season, been doing bad things for a long time. But Wes only turned for the last three episodes of the season, which covered, what, a few days? He didn’t even really do anything! He didn’t kill anybody, despite several chances to do it, because, even if he didn’t want to admit it, he didn’t want to do it; it’s why Alicia was getting through to him as well as she was.

When you look at the fact that he only went bad after one really bad decision, one which easily could have been avoided, and thus, any unsavory things he might have done been avoided, it becomes a no-brainer: Wes is the most redeemable “villain” of this season of Fear because, quite simply, he never even should have been a heel in the first place.
