Fear the Walking Dead – Gone

Do you really think things will be that good in a zombie apocalypse?

I don’t want to be a downer here, but let’s be realistic: In a zombie apocalypse, things are not going to be that good. I mean, it will be a zombie apocalypse, meaning millions of people will be turned into flesh-eating zombies. Society will completely implode, so what can you expect?

My point is, if you find something or are offered something in the apocalypse that seems too good to be true, remember the situation you’re in, and ask yourself how likely is it that you stumbled upon this bounty? At best, if you found something unexpectedly good, there’s a very good chance that someone else has found it already and will not just let you take it from them. This could mean having to negotiate with or fight them for it, where you could easily lose friends in the attempt or destroy the very thing you were fighting over.

That’s the best scenario you’re likely to get. If someone’s offering something great, as I explained in the last entry, there’s probably going to be a catch. The mere fact something is highly valuable to you means it’s either extremely rare or extremely personal to you, and in either case, whoever has it isn’t just going to hand over something like that without something in return, whether that’s doing something for them or giving something valuable to them, probably something (Maybe even someone) you don’t want to part with.

This is why certain things are considered “too good to be true” because the chances of you getting such things without costing you something important or the thing being a lie are so small in a zombie apocalypse that they’re practically impossible.
