Fear the Walking Dead season 7

Don’t let overconfidence trick you.

This might not make much sense in context to my theme this week but think back to the angry parent’s posse from the Fear TWD season seven finale. They were warned not to try to confront P.A.D.R.E.’s emissaries, but they were convinced they were going to take them down and either find or force P.A.D.R.E.’s goons to reveal the location of their kids. They were wrong.

When Morgan finally arrived at the beach to rescue Madison, the entirety of the posse had been handily wiped out by Madison’s handlers, left to turn on the beach, not so much as one of their assailants amongst them.

I’m sure there will be some people in the zombie apocalypse who, upon encountering something they recognize as “too good to be true,” decide to go for it anyway because they’re overconfident, not realizing that they may be thoroughly unprepared for what they’re walking into. As a result, I’m equally sure that they will not succeed.

The point here is that, should you come across something that you’re pretty sure is too good to be true, don’t fool yourself into thinking you can outsmart, outfight, or outrun whatever it is you suspect may be behind what you’re trying to achieve or attain, because, as the parent’s posse in Fear, you will probably not truly know what it is you’re walking into, and only come to realize your mistake after it’s too late to correct.
