Lawrence Gilliard Jr. is an actor known for his role as Bob Stookey on The Walking Dead. Bob was a newcomer welcomed to the prison in season 4. He was a recovering alcoholic who battled demons from his past. After the fall of the prison, he entered a relationship with Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and would eventually encounter a horrible event leading to his death.

Bob was a reasonably easygoing guy who struggled with being the only survivor of the last group he belonged to and with his alcohol dependency. Both of these caused him great distress. He did find great happiness in his short-lived relationship with Sasha, for whom he felt great affection.

Unfortunately, Bob was captured, and subsequently, his leg was cooked and eaten by Gareth (Andrew J. West) and other members of Terminus. This shocked viewers, but the real shock came to Gareth and those consuming Bob’s leg when he informed them a walker had bitten him and they were eating “Tainted Meat.”

As sad as Bob’s ending was, it made for an excellent idea for Gilliard, as he has started a YouTube cooking channel cleverly titled Tainted Eats. Head over to YouTube, subscribe to his channel, give him some “likes,” and learn some new recipes.

He guides viewers through the list of items needed to create the dishes he will be making and then walks through the process of preparing the food he features for the episode. While the food is cooking, he will share a behind-the-scenes story from The Walking Dead. He will even divulge what was actually cooking on that grill instead of his leg!!

He has also requested that fans send him recipes so he can share them in future episodes. This will give everyone a great variety of recipes to choose from so we don’t get bored making the same old thing.

Lawrence Gilliard Jr. – other roles

Gilliard has a long list of memorable roles during his career. Some that he is best known for include The Waterboy, Walk of Shame, One Night in Miami, Gangs of New York, The Deuce, Army Wives, The Beast, The Wire and George. 

He is another cast member that can be added to the Walking Dead actors who have starred in a Law & Order series. He has starred in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. 

More recently, he has starred in That Damn Michael Che, Power Book III: Raising Kana and Chicago PD. 

Next, Gilliard will star in St. Sebastian, a Danny DeVito-directed film set in post-apocalyptic Russia after a nuclear war. He will also star in Pep, a true-life story about Willie Pep, world champion boxer, and Heart of a Lion, the story of George Foreman.
