Deadline reports that Fear the Walking Dead’s Cliff Curtis has been cast in a new role in a Netflix series. Curtis portrayed Travis Manawa in seasons 1-3 of Fear the Walking Dead. He was the husband of Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), and his death was quite heartbreaking as he was shot and then committed suicide, knowing he would reanimate. Curtis has starred in many roles during his career, and he will star in the new Netflix series Kaos.

Georgi Banks-Davies directs the series and will see production begin this summer. Creator and writer Charlie Covell has taken a modern reimagining of Greek and Roman mythology for Kaos.

Hugh Grant will take the role of King of the Gods, Zeus; his once-reliable brother Hades is played by  David Thewlis, with Janet McTeer as Hera, Queen of the Gods. Nabhaan Rizwan will play Zeus’ rebellious son Dionysus, and Curtis will portray Poseiden, the God of Sea Storms and Earthquakes, Poseidon. Aurora Perrineau, Killian Scott, Misia Butler, and Leila Farzad will portray mortals Riddy, Orpheus, Caneus, and Ari, respectively. Rakie Ayola and Stanley Townsend have also been cast in undisclosed roles, and Billie Piper will make a cameo appearance.

But forget everything you think you know about mythology, as nothing is sacred in this series. The eight-episode season will see Zeus awake one morning with a wrinkle on his forehead that sends him into a state of paranoia that he believes will see his reign end. Hades is losing his grip on his dark dominion as he has a backlog of the dead waiting to be processed. Dionysius is out of control, Hera’s power and freedom are threatened by Zeus’ increased paranoia, while the mortals are beginning to realize that the gods have no interest in their well-being. And Poseidon is more concerned about the next party and the size of his yacht.
