The Walking Dead series will return this fall with the final eight episodes of the series. This is something fans are looking forward to but dreading at the same time. It will be very interesting to see if the ending leads to any of the spinoff series, if anyone we care about dies and if there will be cameo appearances from previous cast members. But, it will also be the end, forever.

Ask any fan, and I am sure they will have a wish list of previous characters they would like to see at least a glimpse of before the story closes. Most people feel the series began with Rick Grimes and should end that way. But, it seems unlikely that Rick will make a reappearance, and if he does, it will be brief.

Rumors have spread that Hilarie Burton Morgan will reprise her role as Negan’s wife Lucille in the penultimate episode. The original article didn’t cite the source but stated the information came from a reliable source. This could be true; it has been on Burton Morgan’s IMDB page for quite some time, but as most know, this can be edited by almost anyone. It would be great to see Lucille one last time as Burton Morgan did a bang-up job the first go-round. This, of course, would have to be in a flashback or something like, as we all know, she died in season 10c.

The Walking Dead – final episodes

But why must this information be released? I know as writers, we make our bread and butter by clicks and views, so if we get a piece of info, we will share it. But, AMC doesn’t need to release this information. We all remember back to the days when The Walking Dead actually shocked its viewers. Characters died, and we never knew until it happened on screen. Actors would be leaving the series, and we wouldn’t know until they didn’t show up again, Eduardo, Kal, Luke, Heath, etc.

Let’s go back to that for these final eight episodes. We are going to lose some characters we love, and there are rumors that we could see characters reappear. So, let’s just let it be a surprise and enjoy the series as it plays out.
