The Walking Dead’s final episode will air this fall, and it makes one wonder who will survive. We haven’t had a somewhat major character death since Alden (Callan McAuliffe) if you consider series longevity. Still, prior to that, it would have to be Beta (Ryan Hurst) and Alpha (Samantha Morton), but they were short-term characters. Will we lose any major characters before the last episode ends?

Maggie (Laurie Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are safe; they will go on to Isle of the Dead. The same with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride), as Daryl, will go on to his spinoff, and Carol was originally supposed to. But, what about the others?

Several other characters are considered series regulars and could be killed off. Some of whom have already cheated their comic deaths.

The Walking Dead season 11 cast

Be warned, there are comic spoilers ahead.

Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos) – missed her comic death as one of Alpha’s pike victims. This would be a great loss as poor Coco would then be motherless. She is a character who has grown into a great fighter and leader since her introduction.

Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) – makes it to the end of the comics but will he see the end of the series? He has been involved in a lot of underground goings-on at the Commonwealth, and Mercer (Michael James Shaw) has his eye on him as the military leader but also for being in a relationship with his sister.

Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam) – in the comics, Gabriel meets an awful demise. He is patroling from a water tower, falls, breaks his ankle, and hears a voice saying, “I will save you,” only to find it is Beta. He then slashes Gabriel in the abdomen and is devoured by walkers. The water tower was teased during the season 10 episode “One More,” and fans have been sure that was a sign that Gabriel would die. His death would leave little Coco fatherless. He is another character who has seen significant growth since his introduction.

Aaron (Ross Marquand) – survives until the end of the comics and spends the rest of the days as partners with Jesus. But, if I had to put money on a character dying, it would be Aaron. I don’t know if it is because he has started to morph into the comic version of Rick, but my gut says Aaron may not make it until the end. This is sad as he has become one of my favorite characters. And he will leave little Gracie fatherless.

Ezekiel Sutton (Khary Payton) – this character has just gone threw it with his cancer scare and deserves to live. But he is another one who has cheated his comic death, as he, too, should have been a pike victim. He may be another one who doesn’t make it to the end.

Jerry (Cooper Andrews) – it worries me that we haven’t seen much of Jerry. Sometimes that is a good thing as many characters thrust into the storyline is headed for death. But, he would be the guy to do something heroic to save someone like his old pal Ezekiel. He would leave behind his wife Nabila (Nadine Marissa) and their three children.

Then you have several “also starring” and “supporting” characters who may or may not make it.

Yumiko – Eleanor Matsuura

Magna – Nadia Hilker

Judith – Cailey Fleming (they wouldn’t!)

Lydia – Cassady McClincy

Connie – Lauren Ridloff

Princess – Paola Lázaro

Mercer – Michael James Shaw

Lance Hornsby – Josh Hamilton

Max Mercer – Margot Bingham

Pamela Milton – Laila Robins

Kelly – Angel Theory

Elijah – Okea Eme-Akwari

Sebastian – Teo Rapp-Olsson

This is an apocalyptic series, and we want our favorites to live happily ever after, but that isn’t why we started watching this series. We began watching because it was new and exciting and stuck around because the creators weren’t afraid to shock us. I will be very disappointed if there aren’t multiple shocking deaths before the end of the series.
