Fear the Walking Dead’s Keith Carradine portrayed sharpshooter John Dorie Sr. in Fear TWD, and this role harkens back to the numerous western roles he has portrayed over the years. Ray McKinnon portrayed Proctor John on the series and has also had quite the career. The duo, along with Kim Dickens, Garret Dillahunt, and Dayton Callie, all starred in the Deadwood series, a western focusing on the corrupt town of Deadwood, South Dakota, in the 1870s. Another western starring Carradine and McKinnon that popped up as trending on Google is the 1996 miniseries Dead Man’s Walk.

Dead Man’s Walk is a three-part story that originally aired over two nights on ABC in May 1996. Directed by Yves Simoneau (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) is based on the novel by Larry McMurtry, the third book of the Lonesome Dove series, but the events predate the Lonesome Dove storyline.

Set in the 1840s in Texas,  Gus McCrae and Woodrow Call join the Texas Rangers and find themselves on a mission to annex Santa Fe. This series shows the barren, empty landscape of the west and the battles against nature and those who inhabitant the territory they must cross to reach their destination.
