When does The Walking Dead return? What’s to come? (first look photos)
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead series is quickly approaching its last eight episodes. The series has aired on AMC since Halloween night 2010, and although it has had its highs and lows, it remains wildly popular and one of the most watched TV series ever. When will the series return to AMC to finish the story?
Comic Con 2022 will be held this weekend, July 21-24, and on Friday, July 22 at 1:30 p.m PT, The Walking Dead will host its panel in Hall H, and the trailer for the last episodes will be revealed. This is generally accompanied by a premiere date for the upcoming episodes.
The vague answer has been fall 2022, and we have speculated that the date will be October 2. But, hopefully, the official date is announced at Comic Con this week so fans can finally know when to prepare for the last eight episodes of the series.
The Walking Dead season 11 part 3
>>>July 25, 2022 Update: The Walking Dead season 11 part 3 release date
This week Entertainment Weekly treated fans to exclusive first-look photos for season 11, part 3. The first photo shows the Commonwealth soldiers who will be heavily featured in the upcoming episodes. During the midseason finale, the Commonwealth, along with their slimy Deputy Governor Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), took over Alexandria, Hilltop and Oceanside and it is doubtful that our survivors will take this lightly. The teaser trailer shows that the battle comes to the Commonwealth.
The other two first-look photos feature Carol (Melissa McBridge) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), which is how it should be as they are the only two characters remaining from season 1. Carol appears to be playing homemaker again, but we all know she really has ulterior motives in whatever it is she is doing.
Daryl appears to be with Aaron (Ross Marquand), as they are part of the group who have defected against the Commonwealth, with Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan).
Entertainment Weekly was also fortunate to get some information from showrunner Angela Kang regarding the content of the last episodes.
She teased that there will be twists and turns as well as beautifully emotional scenes. So, this means have the tissues handy for the final episodes. Another exciting development will be where the group was apart during part 2 of the season, and part 3 will see them coming together again, which is how we like it.
Regarding Daryl, Kang had this to say:
"“Daryl, more and more, is being thrust into the role of a leader,” says Kang. “And the way he does it is different than some of the others. His style is not like Rick’s, it’s not like Maggie’s or Ezekiel’s. Daryl is Daryl. He’s not the guy who likes to give a lot of speeches. He kind of likes to do.”"
As far as Carol is concerned, Kang stated that Carol will have some really cool moments, which her fans will be so happy to see.
"“Carol is somebody who’s come so far in her journey, and there’s been times when she’s been really, really tormented about the things she’s had to do, but I think Carol’s in a place of a pragmatic acceptance of the decision she has to make.”"
Kang, Reedus and McBride will all be present for the panel at Comic Con 2022. Additional guests will include Scott Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Seth Gilliam, Josh McDermitt, Michael James Shaw, Cailey Fleming and Lauren Ridloff.
