On Monday, July 18, 2022, the world premiere of the highly anticipated movie, Nope was held at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It was a star-studded event attended by many, including The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun, who stars in the film. Written and directed by Jordan Peele, fans of his other films, Get Out and Us, have waited for quite some time for this release.

Additional cast in attendance included Daniel Kaluuya,  Keke Palmer, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea, Michael Wincott and Wrenn Schmidt. Of course, Peele was in attendance with Win Rosenfeld and Ian Cooper as well. Peele’s purple Bode suit was a custom-made design giving the nod to the film’s ominous cloud featured in the trailer and poster.

Several other A-listers joined the party, including Us star Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, John Boyega, Kelly Rowland, Lil Rel Howery, Storm Reid, Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry, Marsai Martin, Kendrick Sampson, Corey Feldman, and many more.

Yeun looked stunning in a burgundy Gucci suit. Is it a coincidence that this red carpet look slightly resembles his suit in the film?

Steven Yeun – Nope

The trailer doesn’t reveal much about Yeun’s character, Ricky ‘Jupe’ Park, but in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Yuen shared that Jupe is a former child star who owns a theme park that is based on the film that made him a star when he was young.

The film follows the brother and sister team of OJ (Kaluuya) and Emerald (Palmer) Haywood, who own and operate a California horse ranch rich in family history. Things get interesting when some strange and mysterious events begin to occur on the ranch and in the small town they live in.

The film hits theaters on July 22, and the initial reviews are positive! When asked why people should see this movie, Yeun said:

"Because this is a fun ride, from the mind of a brillant artist, Jordan Peele, it will take you for a fun adventure, scare you, thrill you and make you think a little bit."
