Why didn’t Fear of the Walking Dead go to SDCC? (2022)

AMC hosted several panels at Comic Con 2022 but Fear the Walking Dead was noticeably absent from this lineup. In previous years Fear TWD would be present to promote their upcoming season, but this year, things are a bit different.
Fear the Walking Dead is currently filming the eighth season of the series in Savannah, Georgia. The series made a change in filming location in 2022, and this will significantly alter the tone and landscape of this series.
Add to that lead actress Alycia Debnam-Carey departed the series at the end of the penultimate episode of season 7. While Kim Dickens’ character Madison Clark returned during the final episode of the same season.
Fear the Walking Dead season 8
The season finale saw the survivors heading to a safer location than the fallout region they had been trying to live in after the nuclear bomb was detonated by cult leader Teddy Maddox (John Glover).
Another interesting development was that the mysterious PADRE was finally introduced but not exactly how viewers may have thought. Madison Clark was working for them as someone who stole children for this group who felt they had a better way of raising people’s children than their parents did. The season finale also finally saw the meet-up of Madison and Morgan Jones (Lennie James), who didn’t cross over from the flagship series to Fear TWD until season 4, the same season viewers would learn of Madison’s death.
The seventh season was poorly received by fans, so it will be interesting to see what changes are made in future episodes to remedy this.
