The Walking Dead cast reacts to Comic Con 2022
By Renee Hansen
Now that the dust has settled from the excitement of Comic Con 2022, we can take time to process the information that The Walking Dead universe bestowed on its fans. We saw official trailers for Tales of the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead, met some of the cast of Tales of TWD and learned more about that series, reminisced with TWD cast, got excited about the fan event for the series finale and Rick and Michonne will be back with a series of their own.
That is a lot to process. Going into this event, we all knew it would be monumental with TWD’s final appearance and Tales of TWD first, but who could have imagined that instead of movie news that most hoped for, a Rick and Michonne series announcement blew us all away. As emotional as many became with the TWD trailer, this series was a balm to help soothe any pain experienced.
The event was very well done, and the lineup of cast members was incredible, including veterans like Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride to newbies like Michael James Shaw. Other cast members on the panel included a blonde again, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Lauren Ridloff, a very grown-up looking Cailey Fleming and Ross Marquand.

Some of the cast took to social media to share their thoughts about Comic Con 2022.
Cailey Fleming, who has portrayed Judith Grimes since season 9 looked so grown up at this event. She’s grown several inches since we’ve last seen her on screen and has an air of confidence and that ever adorable smile.
Michael James Shaw is a relative newcomer to the series as he began his portrayal of Mercer the Commonwealth General. He fit right in the group and had some great images taken during the photoshoots. Instagram wouldn’t cooperate for some reason, but you can view his post here.
Norman Reedus, who has played Daryl Dixon since season 1, shared a quick video of the audience with a surprise photobomber at the end.
Ross Marquand is known as Aaron on The Walking Dead series. He shared his appreciation for all the fans in attendance at SDCC 2022.
Lauren Ridloff, who portrays Connie on the series, was also part of another panel at SDCC. The panel was titled Disability Representation On and Off Screen, and it was held to shed light on disability as another pillar of diversity in the film industry that is sometimes overlooked.
