The Walking Dead is not coming in August but Tales of the Walking Dead is
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead will air its last eight episodes in October 2022, which means fans will view the final episode of the series on November 20. As sad as this event will be, the fandom has much to look forward to with all of the spinoff series announced and in production. The next series fans have to look forward to is Tales of the Walking Dead.
Set as stand-alone stories, season 1 of Tales of TWD will feature six new tales and features many new characters. Created by The Walking Dead’s Chief Operating Officer Scott M. Gimple, with TWD veteran Channing Powell serving as showrunner, this series is bound to be a fantastic addition to The Walking Dead universe.
TWDU director Michael Satrazeis directed three of the six episodes, with Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier and Ron Underwood directing the remaining three.
Tales of the Walking Dead release date
On August 14 at 9 p.m. ET Tales of the Walking Dead will premiere on AMC. On that same day, episodes one and two will premiere on AMC+. The remaining episodes will air one week early on the subscription service.
The official trailer for the series was released at Comic Con 2022 and revealed more about which actors appear together in an episode.
The pairs appear to be as follows:
Terry Crews and Olivia Munn
Danny Ramirez and Daniella Pineda
Parker Posey and Jullian Bell
Samantha Morton and Lauren Glazier
Anthony Edwards and Poppy Liu
Jessie T. Usher and Embeth Davidtz
These are in no particular order as the official order of episodes hasn’t been released except that Morton’s will be the sixth and final episode of this season.
