Tales of the Walking Dead cast: Matt Medrano interview ep. 2 Blair/Gina

Matt Medrano is another new member of TWD Family. He will star in the second episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, “Blair/Gina.” This series is the third spinoff of The Walking Dead, an anthology series that features new standalone stories. He portrays a character named Brian who gets caught up in a reality-twisted adventure with Parker Posey’s Blair and Jillian Bell’s Gina.
In a two-part interview, Medrano sat with Undead Walking and talked about Tales of TWD, Yellowstone, and much more. I must confess that I met Medrano by misspelling his name in a previous article in which I then copied and pasted the incorrect spelling into several others. Not a high point in my career as a writer, but I got to meet Matt Medrano! (silver lining!)
In “Blair/Gina,” Blair is the overbearing boss at Circle of Trust insurance company. She is extremely self-centered and terrible to her employees, most especially Gina, the receptionist.
Brian is Blair’s finance, and the pair are trying to make it out of Atlanta amidst the reports of strange things happening within the city. Things begin to go haywire, then begins a twisted episode that is a reality-bending addition to The Walking Dead universe.
You don’t want to miss this episode as it is one of the most unique stories to date within TWDU. The cast and crew does an outstanding job at getting creative with this story.
Matt Medrano – Tales of the Walking Dead
Medrano shared that when he first read the details of the role for the audition, he thought, “This doesn’t seem like The Walking Dead to me. What is this? I really had to decode it as it has this non-linear thing happening.” He didn’t know much about Tales of the Walking Dead but soon discovered this episode was something very different.
He went on to share that filming this episode was interesting as it was January in Atlanta and snow was on the ground. So, the crews had to remove the snow before any of the scenes could begin filming.
Medrano felt welcome even before filming began as director Michael E. Satrazemis and actress Parker Posey each called to welcome him and talk about their ideas for the episode. Everyone was on the same page to get weird and creative with this story.
