The Walking Dead universe is ripe with new spin off series announcements, and it can be very confusing to understand what each one will focus on. With the flagship series ending in November 2022, viewers want to know what they should watch next. Tales of the Walking Dead is one series fans are very curious to learn about.

Tales of the Walking Dead is the most recent series to premiere in The Walking Dead universe. This series’ first season features six episodes, each with an individual story unrelated to the others featured in the season. You can watch one without ever viewing the others and view them out of order without being confused with the storylines. Another interesting fact is you can watch this series without ever watching one episode of The Walking Dead or its other spinoff series.

Another exciting thing about Tales of the Walking Dead is that this show introduces a whole new list of characters to TWD Family. Some of the actors will be very familiar, while others you will recognize, and a quick IMDB search will remind you where you have seen them.

Tales of the Walking Dead, where to watch

As with all Walking Dead series, Tales of TWD will air on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. on AMC. The new episodes will release on AMC+ one week early as well.

The schedule for season 1 of Tales of the Walking Dead is as follows:

101 – “Evie/Joe” – August 14, 2022

102- “Blair/Gina” – August 21, 2022

103- “Dee” – August 28, 2022

104- “Amy/Dr. Everett” – September 4, 2022

105- “Davon” – September 11, 2022

106- “La Doña” – September 18, 2022

Each episode occurs in different areas of the United States at various times during the outbreak. There are some fun Easter Eggs that eagle-eyed viewers will tie to some of the other series; showrunner Channing Powell confirms only one, but fans have had fun trying to connect other things to these series.

The third episode, “Dee,” features a familiar Walking Dead character, Alpha, at a time when she was known as Dee. Samantha Morton was able to reprise her role for this episode, as was Scarlett Blum; as a young Lydia, she also portrayed this character in the flashback in The Walking Dead. This episode shows just how far a mother will go to protect her child.
