Tom Payne was a fan favorite in The Walking Dead universe with his portal of Paul Rovia, aka Jesus. His signature long locks and beard looked straight from the comics, and he did a fantastic job with this character. His death was a brutal shock to the fandom, one of the best death scenes in the series, but it was also a sad loss as Payne’s character was an asset to the story.

Payne left the series to pursue a new role as Malcolm Bright in Prodigal Son. This was another outstanding role for Payne, and even though Walking Dead fans missed his presence, they were excited to see him in this new role. Sadly, that series wasn’t reviewed after its second season.

He has been quite busy since then, getting married and having a child, and now he has landed a new role that he is unable to disclose at this time. But, the part will require him to cut his signature long locks and beard. He has taken to social media to announce the new role and the fact that he will be able to do Cameos as Jesus one final time. You can see the announcement video below.

Maybe someone should have him do Jesus but with his British accent.

Payne, his wife, and child recently traveled extensively and shared some beautiful moments of their trip via social media. Their trip took them to  London, Bath, Copenhagen, Malmo, Falsterbo, Stockholm, and soon Manchester and Newport before heading home through NYC and Pittsburgh. He commented, “not bad for a six-month-old.”
