Walking Dead universe actor Robert Palmer Watkins cast in new roles

Robert Palmer Watkins is known for his role as Frank Newton on The Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Newton was a lieutenant in the Civic Republic Military (CRM) who was extremely loyal to the organization. He would meet his match at the end of season 2 when he came up against Felix (Nico Tortorella). Now Watkins has announced he has been cast in two new exciting roles.
Movie Vine reports that Watkins and Jillian Murray (Code Black, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero) join Joey King (The Kissing Booth, Bullet Train) in the Netflix movie The Uglies. This film is an adaptation of the book, Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. Watkins and Murray play Sol and Ellie Youngblood, parents to King’s Tally, in a dystopian world where everyone is considered ugly and receives drastic cosmetic surgery on their 16th birthday to make them pretty.
The film is directed by McG, who has directed several films for Netflix, including The Babysitter, Rim of the World and The Babysitter: Killer Queen. King, Westerfeld, and Jamie King will serve as executive producers with a script adaptation written by Krista Vernoff.
Additional casting for the film includes Keith Powers, Brianne Tju, Chase Stokes and Laverne Cox.
The Uglies will be released on Netflix, but the date has yet to be announced.
Robert Palmer Watkins – new role
Movie Vine also reports that Watkins will star in the horror film The Final Rose. He will portray a bachelor Garrett Dalton on the dating show Love at Last. The story follows a single mother who travels to a remote island to compete on the dating show only to discover that an unknown killer is murdering the contestants.
The film is written and directed by Tim Cruz and Blake Rutledge and also stars Christina Masterson, Brytni Sarpy, Robert Adamson, Brittany Underwood, and Roger Howarth. With Ashla Soter, Stan Spry, and Eric Scott Woods producing.
The Final Rose will air on Tubi in October 2022.
