It’s official, Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the cast of The Boys season 4
By Renee Hansen
Deadline and TVLine have reported that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has officially joined the cast of The Boys for its fourth season. It is a long-talked-about topic within The Walking Dead, Supernatural and The Boys fandoms, as everyone wants Morgan on board the Prime Video original series.
The report states that Morgan will join the series in a recurring role, with details of the character being kept under wraps. Showrunner and creator Eric Kripke has publicly acknowledged that he is eager to bring Morgan on board The Boys. It would reunite the pair who previously worked on Supernatural, a series Kripke also created.
This would also reunite close friends and fellow Supernatural actors Morgan and Jensen Ackles as he portrays Soldier Boy in the series. His fate is uncertain after that explosive season 3 ending, but he has teased his return on Karl Urban’s Instagram post. Urban portrays Billy Butcher in The Boys. Kripke has teased Morgan’s inclusion on the series since season 2, and fans have longed for the official announcement.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan – Isle of the Dead
Morgan’s time on The Walking Dead has ended since filming for the final episode was completed in March 2022. The last eight episodes will air on AMC on October 2, with the series finale on November 20.
He is currently filming six seasons of the spinoff series Isle of the Dead that Entertainment Weekly reports was recently retitled to The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Dead City began filming in New Jersey in July 2022 and will premiere on AMC in 2023. This series sees Morgan’s Negan and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie travel to Manhattan. The island has been cut off since the outbreak and has now been overrun by a horde of walkers one million strong.
