Brooke was the leader of a group that set up their apocalyptic community on a river boat. It appeared to be a well-oiled machine until one man, Billy (Nick Basta), tried to stage a coup and hijack it. Things went south, and everyone on the boat is assumed dead except for Brooke, Alpha/Dee and Lydia.

Dee, as Alpha was known in this episode, didn’t trust anyone on the boat and didn’t appreciate Brooke interfering with her parenting of Lydia. After the boat’s fall, Dee found Brooke broken and distraught in the woods. She was going to kill her until Lydia intervened. Dee instead left Brooke with a cut across her face to remind her that she had failed Lydia.

The episode reveals more about Alpha’s twisted nature, and she sums up Alpha in her own words by the end of the episode: “I was keeping myself from my nature. But that, that was the end of Dee — and the beginning of me.”

Showrunner Channing Powell talked with Entertainment Weekly about Brooke’s future. She stated that Brooke survived and that if there are future seasons of Tales of TWD she would love to revisit this character.
