The Walking Dead final season last 8 episodes premiere date
By Renee Hansen
Fans of The Walking Dead are very much aware that the end is drawing near. This fall, AMC will air the final eight episodes fans will ever see of the long-running series. The Walking Dead premiered on Halloween night, 2010, and it is surprising to everyone that the series extended to eleven seasons. Who would have thought that a “zombie series” would last this long?
But, the reason for its longevity is that this series is much more than a “zombie series,” matter of fact, this series never even uses the word zombie to describe the undead. The storyline of the series uses Robert Kirman’s Walking Dead comic story as its source material, making it unique to the genre as his story is most definitely about the undead, but it is so much more. The Walking Dead comic focuses on survivors’ plight to live another day in an apocalypse and tells their stories instead of solely focusing on gore and other horror elements. Another unique element is that this story reveals the true villains of the end times, humans.
Throughout the comic and the series, the main group of survivors, Rick’s group as it is known, encounter many vile humans, worse than any walker they have ever come in contact with. People use the outbreak as an excuse to embrace their psychotic behaviors or believe that the end times is a great time to be the worst human they could possibly be.
The Walking Dead season 11 part 3 release date
On October 2, 2022, AMC will air the first episode of the last eight of The Walking Dead. This episode will premiere at the traditional time slot of 9 p.m. ET. AMC Network’s subscription service, AMC+, will air the first two episodes in part 3 on that same date, with new episodes released on this service one week early.
The final season consisted of 24 episodes that were released in three parts. The third and final part will have its last episode on November 20, bringing The Walking Dead story to a close.
The fandom will live on in the form of several spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Dead City, Tales of the Walking Dead, a Rick and Michonne series, and a Daryl Dixon series.
