Seth Gilliam has portrayed Father Gabriel Stokes in The Walking Dead since season 5. He has come a long way since his introduction as a weak and cowardly man but has since grown into an experienced fighter and leader. Gilliam announced on Instagram that he will star in the production The War of Woo.

This production will run from September 29 – October 15 at the Gene Frankel Theater in New York City. Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets for $25.99.

The War of Woo is a black comedy written by Dean Haspiel, an award-winning writer, artist, and cartoonist. Directed by Philip Cruise, who also portrays Earl, sees Gilliam as Otis and is joined by Samantha Simone (Blue Bloods). Additional cast includes Olivia Baseman, Philip Cruise, Tad D’Agostino, Alfred C. Kemp, Sionne Elise, Eli Ganias, Alfred C. Kemp, Derrick Peterson and Christopher Lee.

The play follows a group of New Yorkers recruited by a Demon to kidnap Satan in their quest to make an arrangement with God to combine Heaven and Hell. The group will explore the “complicated, violent, and passionate relationship between Hollywood, Heaven, and Hell.”

Seth Gilliam – The Walking Dead final season

Gilliam will be seen as Father Gabriel in the last eight episodes of The Walking Dead that begin airing on AMC on October 2. He has much to lose in the upcoming battle between his group of survivors and the Commonwealth community.

Gabriel and Aaron (Ross Marquand) worked for the Commonwealth until they realized things weren’t as good as they appeared. In the midseason finale, Gabriel, Aaron, Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) exiled themselves from the Commonwealth by coming against Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) and partnering with Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) new community of Riverside.

The final eight episodes will undoubtedly be action-packed. What will the future hold for Father Gabriel?
