Walking Dead’s Paola Lazaro shares favorite Princess scene

Paola Lázaro is well known in The Walking Dead universe for her portrayal of Juanita Sanchez, aka Princess. Her introduction was everything it should be as she appeared to have stepped off the cover of The Walking Dead comic Issue 171.
Princess was introduced in season 10, episode 14, “Look at the Flowers.” She enthusiastically greeted Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt), who were surprised to see anyone in the abandoned city. Princess was cautious of the newcomers, telling them she hadn’t seen anyone in over a year. At one point, she even questions if they are only hallucinations, to which they assure her they are real.
She would eventually join the group on their mission to meet Euegen’s new friend Stephanie which ends up being a trap. They are all held captive by the Commonwealth as we enter season 11.
Lázaro was a guest on the Talking Dead final episodes preview special and shared some fascinating insight on what we can expect from Princess in the remaining episodes.
The Walking Dead season 11 – Princess
Lázaro told Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick that the upcoming scenes are as action-packed as the trailer makes them out to be. This is exciting news as we know a battle is brewing with the Commonwealth.
She also shared that Princess is beginning to see the “crack in the foundation” of the Commonwealth, just when she was beginning to feel part of a community. She is also starting to wonder how Mercer (Michael James Shaw) can be loyal to the Commonwealth. This initially attracted her to him, but with everything being revealed, she questions how he can remain loyal.
A fan asked if we would learn more of Princesses past, and she said we will and understand why she uses comedy as a defense mechanism.
Everyone was happy to learn that Lázaro could snag Princess’ goggles and pink jacket.
She shared that her favorite Princess moment has been the ball with Mercer. And, how could that not be her favorite? It was such a beautiful moment to see her really feel special after all she has been through, especially from Mercer, a man who follows the rules to the letter.
It will be exciting to see what happens for Princess in the final eight episodes. Hopefully, she can get her happily ever after.
