The Walking Dead final episodes – What will Annie’s fate be?
By Renee Hansen
During season 11, part 2 of The Walking Dead, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) decided it would be best to set out on his own. He witnessed Maggie’s (Lauren Cohen) revenge killings of the Reapers and figured she would eventually do the same to him. Many thought this was Negan’s departure from the series, but we pick up his story a few months later.
We soon learn that Negan found a new community, Riverside, and married Annie (Medina Senghore), who is expecting his child. This community made enemies of the Commonwealth as they were accused by Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) of stealing weapons. Although they deny it, Hornsby sends Toby Carlson (Jason Butler Harner) to kill the group.
Luckily Maggie and others from Hilltop come to save the day. Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) and Aaron (Ross Marquand) had been working with the Commonwealth until their evil ways were revealed. They joined Maggie and the other to take out Carlson’s whole group.
They find a hiding place for the people of Riverside as Hornsby and a group of soldiers continue to search for them.
The Walking Dead – Annie
The final episodes begin airing on AMC on October 1, and with Negan heading to a spinoff series, fans are anxious to discover what will happen to Annie.
She appeared to be a leader in the Riverside community as everyone turned to her for instruction. During the midseason finale, Annie, Negan and her group were last seen coming out of the bunker they were hiding in, and Maggie’s son Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller) sides up to Annie after pushing Negan away.
Annie appears to be good people and fans don’t want her introduced just to kill her and her baby. She will appear in the first of the final eight episodes, as seen in promo photos released by AMC. Only time will tell Annie’s fate, but maybe she will travel with Negan and Maggie to Manhattan in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Dead City.
