Who is The Walking Dead actress Laila Robins that plays Pamela Milton?

Laila Robins is one of the newest cast members of The Walking Dead series. She plays Governor Pamela Milton of the Commonwealth, who much was heard about in season 11 part 1 but she wasn’t seen until part 2.

Robins first appeared in the second episode of season 11 titled “New Haunts,” which aired on AMC on February 27. Milton is a character who is featured in the comics as well as the series, but it is yet to be seen how much these two characters will resemble one another.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Angela Kang had this to say about the character:

Pamela is the leader of the Commonwealth. And those who know the character from the comics know she’s presiding over a community that is very large, very organized, very successful, and very safe. In the show we’ll see that she has this interesting backstory that we built for the family she came from and her level of comfort being in the public eye. Laila is amazing and plays the character with such warmth and nuance. She’s somebody we’ll get to know a lot about over time…

In the midseason finale of season 11, Governor Milton was faced with some hard truths about her son, Sebastian (Teo Rapp-Olsson).  He has been conducting criminal activities unbeknownst to his mother. Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and her group, aided by Milton’s right-hand gal, Max (Margot Bingham), published information about Sebastian for all of the residents of the Commonwealth to read. In the finale episodes of The Walking Dead, Milton will have to deal with their demands for justice.

The Walking Dead – Laila Robins

One of the first roles I thought of when Robins was announced for the series was her portrayal of Mrs. Susan Page in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles from 1987. This was one of her first roles. Since starting her acting career, she has been featured in many memorable roles.

Robins is a St. Paul, Minnesota native, and her parents are Latvian Americans whose last name was originally spelled Robiņš. Her professional education included attending the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and attending the Yale School of Drama, where she earned a master of fine arts degree.

She is known for her roles in True Crime, Live Nude Girls, She’s Lost Control, Eye in the Sky, A Call to Spy, Homeland, Murder in the First, Dr. Death, The Blacklist and The Boys.  She is another Walking Dead cast member with many appearances on Law and Order, including the original and Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent.

She will also lend her voice talents to a new adult animated independent film, My Love Affair With Marriage, created by Signe Baumane.

Next, Robins will star in an AppleTV series The Crowded Room which is expected to release in 2023.
