The Walking Dead’s recent episode, “A New Deal,” started off with quite the excitement, picking up immediately following the previous episode’s “Lockdown” cliffhanger. This episode was lighter on action than the previous episode but still full of great moments.
This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead season 11, episode 18, “A New Deal.”
Each week Undead Walking picks an MVP for the recent episode. This can be for some heroic act or something that made a significant impact.
The week many characters stepped up, Judith (Cailey Flemming) wanted to help the people of the Commonwealth. Aaron (Ross Marquand) and the others heading to Oceanside. Even Eugene (Josh McDermitt) for pushing the walker toward Sebastian (Teo Rapp-Olsson), which ended his life. And as always, Carol (Melissa McBride) went over and above to ensure her family’s safety by securing a deal with Governor Milton (Laila Robins).
This week there are two who will receive our MVP honor.
THE MVP FOR A NEW DEAL – DARYL & MAX
The Walking Dead – Daryl
Daryl receives his award for that opening scene! Who wouldn’t want to stab Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton)? Daryl has slowly been chipping away at Hornsby, shooting him two times before stabbing him in this hand. He did this to make a statement to Governor Milton, he tells her, “Don’t worry. He’ll Live.”
The only reason Hornsby isn’t dead is because of Carol’s deal. Daryl trusts her and knows whatever she has planned will be for the greater good of our survivors.
The Walking Dead – Max
The other MVP is Max (Margot Bingham). She had the guts to stick up to the Miltons, and she will likely receive severe punishment for her actions or even be killed. By taping her conversation with Sebastian, she revealed more devious actions by the Miltons to the residents of the Commonwealth.
She feels it is her duty as a citizen to do whatever she can to reveal the evil deception of the Miltons.
She might take Eugene up on his offer to head to Alexandria with him. Although the preview for the next episode shows that Eugene is now wanted for Sebastian’s death. This isn’t a surprise, as we’ve seen him in the trailer clips in a courtroom setting.
