Viewers of The Walking Dead know that the series is drawing close to its conclusion. On November 20, 2022, the finale episode, “Rest in Peace,” will air on AMC. This title is a nod to the final comic volume, which is titled the same and consists of comic issues 187-193.

The final season has been broken into three parts, with the first airing in August 2021, the second in February 2022, and the last part that began on October 2, 2022. This season has seen a significant focus on the Commonwealth and our survivors trying to figure out if this community is all that is presented.

They quickly learn that the shining outward appearance is dulled by a dark underbelly in which its leaders are directly involved. Governor Pamelia Milton (Laila Robins) is more concerned about her position than she is about the citizens. She pampers her rotten son Sebastian (Teo Rapp-Olsson) regardless of his actions. And her second in command, Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), reveals an evil and sadistic side that is opposite of his initial introduction.

The Walking Dead new episode tonight?

Tonight, October 16, 2022, season 11, episode 19, “Variant,” will air on AMC at 9 p.m. ET. This episode is available now on AMC+, along with episode 20, “What’s Been Lost.”

From the title “Variant,” it can be assumed that viewers will see the long-teased variant walkers who can climb walls, open doors, and more. These are different from France’s variants viewed in the after-credits scene of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. These walkers harken back to the series’ early episodes when we saw the Teddy Bear walker pick up her bear, Morgan’s (Lennie James) wife jiggle the doorknob to their house, and the department store walker pick up a rock and smash the window.

It is exciting to think that even in the final episodes, the creators still give fans new and exciting stories.
