Fans of The Walking Dead are looking forward to the spinoff series that have been announced. Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) will have his adventure in France, and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) will rejoin the universe in their own spinoff.

But the series getting the most attention is The Walking Dead: Dead City, which will team up the unlikely duo of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). This series has been announced to release in April 2023 and will be the first direct spinoff of the flagship series.  According to a Twitter response by JDM, filming has wrapped for the first season.

Below is a thread where Morgan responds to a fan stating, “considering I just wrapped and got home yesterday…” Numerous fan photos have been circulating on social media of Morgan and Cohan actively filming for Dead City in New Jersey for months. So can we assume that Dead City is what he is talking about when he says, “I just wrapped?”

Fans know Morgan has also been cast in The Boy’s fourth season and according to creator Eric Kripke, filming for this series began in August. But filming for The Boys is in Toronto, and Morgan has been seen in New Jersey for quite some time.

It will be exciting to learn what takes this pair to Manhattan and see what they discover when they get there. The island had been cut off soon after the outbreak and is now overrun by a horde of walkers over 1 million strong. The citizens there are forced to live above the 10th floor and zipline between the buildings. Dead City is shaping up to be a fantastic series, and April will be here before you know it!
