This week’s Walking Dead episode, “What’s Been Lost,” continued with the pattern of action as seen in the previous episodes of season 11, part 3. This week our survivors have not so politely been ushered from the Commonwealth.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead season 11, episode 20, “What’s Been Lost.”

Each week Undead Walking selects a character from each episode to grant the title of MVP. Sometimes the character receives this honor for a heroic act or a critical mission, or sometimes, it is because they have performed an act that is quite impressive.

This week several of our heroes could have earned the title. Daryl (Norman Reedus) could have earned it for his fighting skills and bravery. Or Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) for her defiance of the Commonwealth.

But this week, we honor a woman who is someone who didn’t hesitate to take down one of this season’s big bads.

THE MVP FOR WHAT’S BEEN LOST – CAROL

The Walking Dead – Carol

Carol’s story began in season 1 of The Walking Dead. She was an abuse victim who started her journey to becoming a powerful leader and warrior for our survivors. This journey began the moment she bashed the head of her husband Ed (Adam M) repeatedly with a pickaxe.

Since then, she has saved more lives than anyone in the series. Often putting her own life in jeopardy in the process. She has also endured more heartache than anyone should. Still, she presses on and does the jobs that need to be done.

This week she and Daryl turned to Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) to aid them in locating their missing family members. Carol worked closely with Hornsby to ensure that Ezekiel (Khary Payton) received the lifesaving surgery he needed. During that time, she learned of Hornsby’s ways and knows he is a snake.

But, sometimes, for the greater good, she needs to enlist the help of someone like Hornsby to accomplish her goals. But, once she was through with him, she didn’t hesitate to kill him as he drew a weapon on her and Daryl.

Bravo to Carol once again for ridding the apocalyptic world of someone like Lance Hornsby, who was only looking out for himself.
