Fear the Walking Dead season 8 first look at the upcoming season

Fear the Walking Dead is in full production mode for its eighth season. The upcoming season is currently being filmed in Savannah, Georgia. Showrunners have promised a reinvention of the series as our survivors seek out a new place to live.

In season 7, our group realized their efforts were futile in trying to live within the nuclear wasteland of Texas. After a long season of trying to find a safe place to live, they set out in rafts with the mission of relocating.

The past season also saw the return of fan-favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dicken) and the departure of two favorites, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and Althea (Maggie Grace). Several characters died this season, including Wes (Colby Hollman), John Dorie Sr. (Keith Carradine), and Howard (Omid Abtahi).

In a new release video from AMC, we see several familiar faces, including Lennie James (Morgan), Karen David (Grace), Austin Amelio (Dwight) and Christine Evangelista (Sherry).

Showrunners  Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg have stated that much more will be revealed about the mysterious PADRE this season. Morgan and Madison were last seen traveling by boat on their way to recover baby Mo from this group. Several showrunners’ comments have eluded the fact that much of this season will take place on the water.

This isn’t the first time Fear TWD was set on the water. In season 2, our survivors took refuge on Victor Strand’s (Colman Domingo) boat, the Abigail. This gives fans hope, as season 2 was one of the better seasons of the series.

The loss of Alicia will be tough as she has proven herself as a leader. The pairing of Morgan and Maidson is something to look forward to, as this is the first time they will go on a mission together. Morgan crossover from The Walking Dead in season 4, the same time Madison was believed to die at the stadium.

Other familiar faces returning this season are Colman Domingo (Strand), Ruben Blades (Daniel), Danay Garcia (Luciana), Jenna Elfman (June), Mo Collins (Sarah), Alexa Nisenson (Charlie), and Daryl Mitchell (Wendell).

Fear the Walking Dead will return to AMC and AMC+ in 2023.
