The Walking Dead wins at The 50th Anniversary Saturn Awards

The 50th Anniversary Saturn Awards ceremony was held on October 25, 2022, and The Walking Dead universe was well represented with nominations. AMC dominated the network/cable nominations, with 17, with six for TWDU.

Both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead were nominated in the Horror Television Series: Network / Cable, with The Walking Dead coming on top for this category. Angela Kang and Scott M. Gimple were in attendance to receive the award.

The Walking Dead had strong competition with the other nominees, including American Horror Story: Double Feature, Chucky, From and What We Do in the Shadows. 

Another Walking Dead winner was Lauren Cohan, who portrays Maggie Rhee.  She was presented with the Best Supporting Actress award, for which Melissa McBride was also nominated. The nominees in this category, including Emmanuelle Chriqui (Superman & Lois), Janina Gavankar (Big Sky), Julia Jones (Dexter: New Blood), Danielle Panabaker (The Flash) and Sophie Skelton (Outlander).

It’s sad that in the final season of the series, more awards weren’t given, as our TWDU actors never seem to get the recognition they are due.

The Walking Dead – final season

The Walking Dead will air its series finale episode on November 20, 2022. The episode is titled “Rest in Peace,” which is a nod to the comic book series’ final volume title.

AMC and Talking Dead are planning a series finale celebration that will be held in Los Angeles in conjunction with the last episode, which will air simultaneously on AMC and AMC+.
