With the Commonwealth persecuting our heroes in The Walking Dead, it’s clear there’s few things worse than being IN a group that’s against you.

One of the things I enjoy the most about The Walking Dead is the fact that (For my purposes, at least) it shows a series of scenarios and situations in that you could find yourself in a zombie apocalypse and shows ways in which you might be able to fight back against them. It allows me to explain the value of certain skills and tactics in the apocalypse by showing you what you might need to use them against and how dangerous that thing could be.

In the case of this week, it was what happens when you have been taken in by a larger group, and that group, or at least its leadership, has turned against you.

This week’s episode centered around Pamela Milton, governor of the Commonwealth, going on a subtle war against the Virginia survivors — Using the Commonwealth army and a battalion of snatch-and-grab teams — and how Daryl, Carol, and Yumiko, the only ones to avoid capture, managed to stay one step ahead of her and keep their fight for life and liberty alive.

Because of this, I’ve decided that, for this week’s Survival Rule Of The Week, I’m going to focus on things you need to be aware of should you discover that a larger community you’ve been taken in by in the apocalypse turns on you, and some of the steps you can take to be ahead of your new-found enemies.
