The Walking Dead season 11, episode 20

Look and Listen. You never know when something important may come.

While one half of this week’s episode was the story of Daryl and Carol’s mission to rescue the rest of the group, the other half focused on Yumiko trying to tackle Eugene’s desperate legal situation while also trying to find a way to help the others escape Pamela’s clutches.

For much of the episode, Yumiko felt trapped, forced to railroad Eugene at the governor’s behest, lest she uses the rest of the group, and even her brother, Tomichi, as leverage against her. This changed, however, the moment she overheard Pamela receive an update on the search for Carol, Daryl, and Lance Hornsby, from Colonel Vickers, who informed her that the three were still at large, giving Yumiko enough hope that the situation could turn in the group’s favor.

Should the time ever come in a zombie apocalypse that you are no longer on good terms with the larger group you find yourself in, you need to start treating things as if you are a spy trying to take down a hostile force because, for all intents and purposes…you are. You need to keep your eyes and ears open for any vital information, particularly on any moves the leadership of the larger group might be making against you and yours and things that might derail those plans. Any little detail might prove crucial to the who, what, when, where, and how they might come at you, all of which can be used to evade or combat your enemies.

Just don’t get caught doing it, as Yumiko did, that might set you up for disinformation that can quickly walk you into an ambush.
