Walking Dead actress Merritt Wever cast in Severance Season 2

Merritt Wever portrayed Denise Cloyd in season 6 of The Walking Dead. She took over as Alexandria’s doctor after Dr. Pete Anderson’s death (Corey Brill). She was never confident in her abilities but was encouraged by Tara (Alanna Masterson) who she formed a romantic relationship. Her character took the comic death of Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), which shocked the fandom. Now Variety reports that Wever has been cast in the second season of Severance.
The Apple series Severance, a sci-fi psychological thriller, was created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle. The first season received critical acclaim with 14 Emmy Award nominations, for which it won two, best music composition and best main title design.
The second season will see the return of Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, and Christopher Walken. New casting for season 2 includes Wever, Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat, John Noble, Bob Balaban, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannate, and Olafur Darri Olafsson.

Wever has been acting since she was 15 and has quite the resume. Roles you will recognize her from include Signs, Law & Order, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Into the Wild and New Girl.
She is well known for portraying Zoey Barkow on Nurse Jackie, a role she won an Emmy for. Since leaving The Walking Dead, she has kept busy starring in Godless, Unbelievable, Roar and Run.
Next, Wever will star in Midday Black Midnight Blue, an indie drama, Memory, which was initially titled Untitled Michel Franco Project. She will have a recurring guest role in Hulu’s Tiny Beautiful Things, where she will play Frankie, a single mother of two children.
