The Walking Dead: two characters return with bad news
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead series is quickly approaching the final episode of the series. As events unfold, our survivors are slowly coming back together to take down the Commonwealth. This week’s episode “Faith” showed new alliances and the reappearance of two characters viewers hoped wouldn’t be two that are never heard of again.
This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead season 11, episode 22, “Faith.”
This week viewers catch up with Aaron, Jerry (Cooper Andrews), Lydia (Cassady McClincy), and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari). They were last seen fighting off variant walkers at an abandoned Reinessance Fair grounds.
They are traveling towards Oceanside this week when they meet up with two familiar faces. Luke (Dan Fogler) and his girlfriend, Jules (Alex Sgambati), haven’t been seen since season 10, “A Certain Doom.” Many fans thought they would fall by the wayside, like Eduardo (Peter Luis Zimmerman) and Kal (James Chen).
The pair are found running in the woods and meet up with Aaron and his group. The bad news, they inform them that the Commonwealth has taken over Oceanside, and they are unsure of the fate of the other residents. This is something viewers aren’t surprised to hear, as the last time Oceanside was featured, the late Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) was flipping a coin to decide their fate.
The Walking Dead – Luke and Jules
Including these two characters in the final episodes is a great way to wrap up their stories. Luke was a part of Magna’s (Nadia Hilker) group and played a vital role during the Whisperer War. Jules was an essential member of Oceanside and also fought in that war.
Aaron’s group, with Luke and Jules, now included, decide to head to Alexandria instead. As they assume that Daryl (Norman Reedus), Carol (Melissa McBride), and the others will all be there believing the deal with Pamela Milton (Laila Robins), governor of the Commonwealth, still stands.
An additional six people will join the fight against the Commonwealth in the final two episodes of The Walking Dead.
