Two Walking Dead universe actors star in the new Steven Speilberg film, The Fabelmens. Fear the Walking Dead actor Cooper Dodson (Dylan) and World Beyond’s Nicolas Cantu (Elton) star in the movie that has been released in select theaters on November 11 with a wide release on November 23.
This film gets its source material from director Steven Speilberg’s childhood and first years as a director. In this coming-of-age film, the main character, a fictional Sammy Fabelman, takes viewers on his journey as an aspiring filmmaker who uses the situations of his dysfunctional family and others around him to find the power of movies.
After seeing The Greatest Show on Earth with his parents at a young age, Sammy begins making films of his own, encouraged by his supportive mother.
The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the festival’s People’s Choice Award. Speilberg remarked that this film is the most personal one he has ever created. Labelle was named a 2022 TIFF Rising Star at the festival.
The Fabelmans cast
Dodson and Cantu portray close friends and members of Sammy’s Boy Scout troop who help him make his movies. Gabriel LaBelle plays Sammy, and the film also stars Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Judd Hirsch, Jeannie Berlin, Julia Butters, Robin Bartlett and Keeley Karsten.

Cooper Dodson – other projects
Dodson is also known for other roles, including American Horror Story, The Bad Seed Returns and Preacher. Next, he will star as Hyllus in a fantasy movie, Wisdom for Heros, that sees a mellowed Hercules become a mentor to the younger generation of his kingdom.
Nicolas Cantu – other projects
Cantu has served as a voice actor in many projects, including Oddballs, Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Family Guy, Dragons: Rescue Riders and more. He has also starred in 9-1-1: Lone Star, The Unicorn and The Good Place.
