The Walking Dead final season

1) This episode’s “Previously On The Walking Dead” — Focusing on the warden of Outpost 22 telling all his prisoners (Including Negan, Ezekiel, and Kelly) that they are at the bottom of the Commonwealth’s society, Negan telling Annie (Before being separated by Commonwealth troopers) that he’s going to get them out of their predicament, Negan and Ezekiel agreeing to put aside their differences to get their community free, Yumiko announcing at her press conference that she was going to defend Eugene in his murder trial, and Maggie affirming to Daryl, Carol, Rosita, Father Gabriel, and Connie that they’re going to find the kids and reclaim Alexandria — is voiced by Khary Payton.

2) Judith’s narration this week features Rick’s group’s first meeting with Negan in the season six finale, “Last Day On Earth”, the group’s reaction to the deaths of Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee in the season seven premiere, “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be”, Ezekiel’s reaction to the massacre of his people in the assault on the Saviors’ chemical plant outpost in season eight’s “Monsters”, Negan’s reaction to discovering Lucille’s walker in the season ten finale, “Here’s Negan”, Negan cuddling with Lucille as they survived the initial outbreak in that same episode, Negan’s reaction after accidentally killing Margo trying to rescue Lydia from her and Alfred in season ten’s “Silence The Whisperers”, and Negan burning Lucille (The bat) in “Here’s Negan”.

3) While this makes perfect sense in hindsight, as they’re hauling gravel, Ezekiel and Princess spot former trooper Tyler Davis, who had interrogated Princess when they were first looking to join the Commonwealth in “Splinter” and had, after his expulsion from the troopers, attempted to take Max hostage to get Pamela’s attention in “New Haunts”, explaining where he’s been since his disappearance after being spotted in the hospital in “Rogue Element”.

4) As we return from the title sequence, Lydia kills a walker, which causes concern from Elijah, who warns, “It could have been a climber“. This is the first new name for individual dead in the series since the term “Demons” was spotted on the walls of the DC Metro tunnels in this season’s first episode, “Acheron: Part I”.

5) Luke and Jules finding Aaron, Jerry, Lydia, and Elijah is the pair’s first appearance since they helped Daryl, Carol, Jerry, Kelly, Beatrice, and Magna infiltrate Beta’s super horde as he lay siege to the tower in season ten’s “A Certain Doom”.
