The time is here for fans of The Walking Dead to prepare themselves to view the 177th and final episode of the series. It seems it was a long time coming, but it came much too quickly for most fans. On November 20, 2022, AMC and AMC+ will air “Rest in Peace,” and most fans aren’t ready.
The series finale episode is titled “Rest in Peace,” which mirrors the final volume of the comics title. It is a bad sign as fans have wondered who won’t survive the last episode. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Daryl (Norman Reedus), and Carol (Melissa McBride) are safe as they either star in an upcoming spinoff or have talked about their character’s future story. But many others are in grave danger.
This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead season 11, episode 23, “Family.”
The story will likely pick up where episode 23, “Family,” left off with a horde of variant walkers breaching the Commonwealth walls while our survivors try to fend them off. Eugene (Josh McDermitt) escaped execution but is still hunted by Governor Milton’s (Laila Robins) soldiers. Lydia (Cassady McClincy) was bitten and had her arm cut off by Jerry (Cooper Andrews), who then volunteered to search for the other group members and said a final-sounding farewell.

The promo photos for the last episode of the series feature many of our favorite characters. We see the fighting will be ongoing in the Commonwealth.
Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) have a sit-down. Could this be the conversation where they finally find some common ground that will eventually lead to their mission to Manhattan in The Walking Dead: Dead City?
It is great to see Kerry Cahill as Dianne in the final episodes.
Eugene and Gabriel team up.
The Walking Dead series finale airs on AMC and AMC+ on November 20, 2022.
